Unit 1: Investigation and Experimentation

Welcome to Period 1 Table 4's group wiki.  This wiki on unit one is about investagation and experimentation.  We did many experiments and we worked on hypothisis writing, getting quantitive data, writing the materials and procedures, designing the experiment, and good conclusion writing.  All of these experiments are helping us practice for the Science Fair. 

8th Grade Science Standards Covered:

Scientific progress is made by asking meaningful questions and conducting careful investigations. As a basis for understanding this concept and    addressing the content in the other three strands, students should develop their own questions and perform investigations. Students will:

1. Plan and conduct a scientific investigation to test a hypothesis.
2. Evaluate the accuracy and reproducibility of data.
3. Distinguish between variable and controlled parameters in a test.
4. Construct appropriate graphs from data and develop quantitative statements about the relationships between variables.
